KTH New School of Architecture wins the Kasper Salin Prize 2015, The Swedish Association of Architects’ award for best architecture in Sweden. Tham & Videgård also won the Private house Award with the Creek house in Skåne. The prize ceremony was held on 19 November at The Swedish Association of Architects annual Architecture Gala at the Stockholm City Hall.

The Krokholmen house is a vacation home on the tip of a small island in the outer archipelago. The exposed location very close to the shoreline, occasionally experiences strong winds, which made demands for a house that could take full advantage of the beauty of the site but also offer secluded and protected outdoor spaces. The location is the outer Stockholm archipelago. Tall pines give the forested site an untouched character. The house is placed in a clearing with a high position in the landscape, on a plateau facing the sea in the north. Read More »
Completion of Summerhouse at Lagnö in the Stockholm archipelago. The building sits on the border between a forest and the coast line. A sequence of interconnected pitched roofs made of natural cast concrete create interior spaces of varying size and heights. Small rooms for entrance, bath, kitchen and sleeping constitute a thick wall towards the north, while a continuous open space for living and dining opens up to the south with vast views over the neighboring islands, the Baltic sea and the horizon.
