Tham & Videgård’s Treehotel, the Mirrorcube, receives the Jury Special Mention at the international Barbara Cappochin Architecture Prize 2013. Quote from the jury’s motivation: ”The Tree Hotel deserves a special mention because it is a small project that brilliantly meditates on the relationship between artifice and nature, capable of being playful and poetic at the same time, “naturally” technological.”

It is the world’s largest Architectural Awards Programme with 1,379 Entries from 72 Countries, and 317 International Judges. Tree Hotel awarded

Tham & Videgård gets the Jury’s Special Mention at the Barbara Cappochin International Architecture Prize for the project Tree Hotel.
The Jury writes: The “Tree Hotel” deserved a special mention because this project is a small, brilliant solution reflecting the relationship between artifice and nature; “natural” technology  that is both playful and poetic. Out of 300 proposals Tham & Videgård gets place 4 (Tree Hotel) and 15 (House Lagnö).

Light Houses exhibition in Stockholm

Tham & Videgård is part of LIGHT HOUSES – an extended version of the joint nordic exhibition produced for the Venice architecture biennale 2012. New Nordic at the Louisiana

T&V to exhibit as part of the New Nordic – Identity & Architecture exhibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition in 2012 is about a concept or phenomenon that is arousing renewed global interest – the idea of the distinctively Nordic. Nordic stock is high at present, from politics and welfare to cuisine and design, and the year’s exhibition offers a take on what the Nordic actually is – and what such ideas mean for our societal and cultural development.
