Moderna Museet Malmö is shortlisted for Best new building in the world in the Culture category at the World Architecture Festival that will be held in Barcelona 3-5 November 2010.

Lisbon Architecture Triennale

T&V is invited to exhibit at the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2010 that will be dedicated to the house, the dwelling. Starting from the motto “Falemos de Casas / Let’s talk about houses”, taken from the poem by Herberto Helder, the Triennale is proposing to celebrate architecture in the way that it connects most directly to society, taking the house as its archetype and considering questions surrounding contemporary dwelling.

Victoria & Albert Museum

T&V participate in the Architecture 2010 exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The exhibition named 1:1 Architects Build Small Spaces consist of a series of concepts exploring specific architectural and social typologies.
15 June – 30 August 2010.

Resembling an abstract wooden cloud or fallen star, this structure houses projectors and screens programmed with time-lapse imagery of cloud formations. Contrasting with the solid, emphatic exterior, every surface of the interior is covered with these film projections, thus offering an experience of weightlessness and intangibility. After the exhibition the structure should be hollowed out and become a children’s storytelling shelter.

Bergman Center, 1st prize.

Bergman Center, entrance courtyard.The competition aimed to transform the two existing buildings of a former school into the new premises of the Bergman Center Foundation on Fårö Island. The purpose of the BCF is to manage and develop the artistic legacy of the Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman. Situated close to Fårö Church and the Ingmar Bergman residence at Dämba, the new premises will be the hub of the Bergman Center’s public activities, including a permanent exhibition, cinema, audio listening room, library, shop, café and a cinematographic park. It will also be the base for the annual Bergman Week.

In Tham & Videgård’s winning scheme, the two existing buildings are linked into one through the addition of a new steeply pitched roof that creates double height exhibition spaces as well as a new upper level for a library, video rooms, offices and the Fårö museum.
The resulting reduced and prismatic exterior volume establishes a direct relation to the local vernacular architecture of Fårö island. It is clad with industrial tar paper, which let the BCF stand out as a new and recognizable contemporary addition in relation to its environs, the open agricultural landscape.

Planned start of construction: 2011.

Stockholm Concert Hall

The T&V scheme for the extension and re-organisation of Ivar Tengbom’s neoclassical masterpiece in central Stockholm has been selected for continued study. The program includes a new roof top concert and restaurant space, a new Black Box theatre at street level, a new outdoor Hötorget stage, and new facilities throughout the building for the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra as well as for visiting orchestras. www.konserthuset.se
